Senior Book Club Recommends

Students in Senior Book Club have recommended some of their favourite books from the SHS Library collection. Be sure to check them out!

I Heart You, You Haunt Me by Lisa Schroeder

Recommended by: Grade 10 student

Plot: The girl’s boyfriend dies and he keeps  coming back to  protect her.

Read it if…you like romance.

 

Scott Pilgrim’s Precious Little Life by Bryan Lee O’Malley

Recommended by: Grade 10 student

Plot: Scott Pilgrim wants to date Ramona Flowers, but in order to do that he must defeat her 7 evil exes.

Read it if…you like action, comedy, and video games.

 

If I Stay by Gayle Forman

Recommended by: Grade 12 student

Plot: Mia Hall is stuck in a coma and has to decide to stay or not wake up.

Read it if… you like a good suspense book that keeps you on your feet.

 

Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen

Recommended by: Grade 12 student

Plot:  Falling in love with the animal trainer’s wife never ends well.

Read it if… you like animals, love and scandals.

 

The Darkest Powers Trilogy by Kelley Armstrong

Recommended by: Grade 11 student

Plot: Follow Chloe Saunders on an adventure of mystery and supernatural as she discovers herself and new friends.

Read it if… you enjoy the supernatural.

 

Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

Recommended by: Grade 12 student

Plot: Sam Kingston partied hard and died on her way home that night, but how? She gets a chance, 7 chances actually, to relive her last day until she finds out what happened that night.

Read it if… you like books about teen problems and life lessons.

Halo Series by Eric Nylund, William C. Dietz, etc.

Recommended by: Grade 12 student

Plot: It is the 26th century. Humanity has gone to war against the Covenant..

Read it if…you like books based on the video game Halo. Genre: Sci-fi.
